The aims of the programme are to:
introduce the Four Constructs (Building Blocks) for positive, constructive relationships and calm, confident parenting
develop parents’ understanding of empathy
develop parents’ understanding of the importance of listening and communication
explore the power of praise and positive interaction
increase parents’ understanding of the power of play
promote positive approaches to discipline and boundary setting
develop an understanding of the importance of nurture of self and others in family relationships
Parents feel more confident and have greater understanding of their children’s feelings and needs and how their children communicate these.
They have an increased repertoire of parenting strategies to support their child’s development and school readiness.
The course can be delivered 1:1 by Lisa or delivered as a group.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are an NHS service that aims to help young people up to the age of 18 who are finding it hard to manage their emotional and psychological health, and who are suffering with acute, chronic and severe mental health problems.

If you feel a referral is needed, please discuss with school, Lisa, or your GP.

A CWP can offer short-term low intensity CBT informed interventions to children and young people experiencing difficulties relating to low mood and anxiety. The children and young people will need to be willing to attend sessions and motivated to make changes. They cannot accept referrals that would meet Specialist CAMHS criteria.
All sessions are based on brief evidence-based CBT Informed protocols (6-8 sessions)
Referrals can only be made via school. Please contact Lisa for further discussion.
A morning or afternoon workshop to develop a greater understanding of emotions, managing your own and your children’s/ teens, and being confident to ‘bounce back’ using a range of strategies.

A 3 session workshop just for dad’s of children aged 2-10 years:
An opportunity to meet with other dads.
A chance to get advice and support with developing your skills and confidence in managing your children.

A level 2 referral provides advice and guidance regarding one issue. This can include: eating issues, routines, toileting, personal hygiene, financial concerns. Support may be provided in a 1:1 session or a group.
Referrals for this service can be made through Lisa.
Free courses for parents / carers. These courses have been designed specifically for parents/ carers to support you in strengthening your parental relationships.
A partnership of 11 leading agencies providing counselling, information, advice, and support to children and young people aged 5 to 17 across Hampshire. We also give advice and information to anyone concerned about a child or young person’s emotional wellbeing.

Volunteers help families with children age 0-11 years deal with the challenges they face. Homestart support parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children. At the heart of our work is home visiting volunteer support.
We provide support for families struggling with post-natal depression, isolation, physical problems, bereavement and many other issues. Our volunteers will spend around two hours a week in a family’s home supporting them in the ways they need

We support young carers through a mixture of respite breaks, digital inclusion, online learning, and community outreach. This way we can not only provide them with fun and relief, but help to also protect their mental health and let them develop meaningful relationships with peers with shared experience. Each year, we are able to reach more than 2,500 children through our programme.
Children must be referred to us by a professional who works with your family. This might be a young carer’s worker, a teacher, social worker, or someone else who supports your family. If you think that your child would benefit from a Honeypot break, please speak to Lisa or the school.
A Psychological therapy service for adults offering phone support, courses and online CBT.

Recovery-focussed Wellbeing Centres offer safe spaces to be yourself and get back on track through groups, workshops, activities and 1:1 emotional support. Through an initial telephone assessment, we'll work with you to set goals for your time with us and find the right courses to help you work towards them. We can also help signpost you to local services for any additional support needs, like housing, benefits, counselling, crisis support or other specific mental health needs.

Motiv8 | Creating safer communities for young people and their families
Specialise in delivering person-centred counselling to 11-25 year olds, which involves intensive counselling delivered in 5 sessions sometimes called solution - focused counselling. This method provides positive change for the client, improving mental health in the shortest possible time and in the most cost effective way. We pride ourselves on our ability to match the client to the Counsellor best suited for their needs.

When children are dealing with the death of someone close, they may feel angry, guilty, frightened and alone. It can be very difficult for a parent, carer, close relative or friend to help a bereaved child when they are grieving too. Simon Says aims to:
Support Hampshire children and young people up to the age of 18 years who has a significant person in their life who has died or is dying
Offer information and advice to move forward in their lives, but never to forget their significant person
Run a telephone support line
Host monthly age appropriate support groups
Offer the opportunity to meet other families who have also been bereaved
Support and give advice and training to teachers, and other professionals working with bereaved children and young people
Host an Annual Residential weekend for up to 45 children and young people

An innovative and unique provider of all services to those affected by domestic abuse. They don’t just protect and work with victims, they help perpetrators, the police and many other organisations.

Up2U programme- Up2U is a service offered free to anyone over the age of 16 who recognises that they use abusive behaviours in their relationships and want to change.
Freedom Programme is about abusive and controlling behaviour in relationships.

Across the UK and internationally, the Solihull Approach supports mental health and wellbeing in parents, children, schools, older adults and high stress workplaces through an evidence based model in trainings, online courses and resources.
School Nurses Hampshire provide a range of help and support to parents/ carers and their young people.
1. ChatHealth 0-5
ChatHealth 0-5 is a text messaging service set up to support parents, carers and families of under 5’s in Hampshire. The service is run by local health visitors who have a wealth of experience of working with mums and dads-to-be, babies, toddlers and young children. The Health Visiting Team are able to support with questions from parents, carers and families relating to a wide range of health and wellbeing issues including crying babies, infant feeding, starting baby on solid foods, sleep and behaviour problems. As well as giving advice, the team can signpost to appropriate services and other support. How to use it: Text the dedicated number 07520 615720.
2. Chathealth 11-19
The ChatHealth text service is an easy way for young people 11-19 to confidentially ask for help with a range of issues. The service is manned by qualified school nurses who have a wealth of experience of working with young people. ChatHealth allows young people in Hampshire to text messages to a dedicated number 07507 332160; the messages are then delivered to a secure website. Once received, the school nurse will respond to the text within one working day. ChatHealth is available Monday to Friday from 9am-4.30pm (excluding bank holidays). Any young person who texts the service outside of these hours will receive an automated message with advice of where to get help if their question is urgent. The School Nursing Team are able to support young people with questions relating to a wide range of health and wellbeing issues including self-harm, relationships, bullying, weight, anxiety, drugs, smoking, stress, body worries, alcohol and sexual health. As well as giving advice, the team can signpost to appropriate services and other support. Young people are still able to request to see a School Nurse face to face in school or a community setting. 3. ChatHealth Parents/Carers offers a simple, convenient & confidential text messaging service for parents of children and young people in Hampshire aged 5-19. The ChatHealth advisor team is made up of school nurses working within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. These nurses all have extensive experience of working with and supporting parents of children and young people. ChatHealth allows parents in Hampshire to text messages to a dedicated number 07507 332417; the messages are then delivered to a secure website. Once received, the school nurse will respond to the text within one working day. ChatHealth is available 9 am - 4.30 pm on Monday to Thursday and 9 am - 4 pm on Fridays (excluding bank holidays). Any parent who texts the service outside of these hours will receive an automated message with advice of where to get help if their question is urgent.
4. The Team are able to can support parents with questions relating to a wide range of health and wellbeing issues including healthy lifestyles, toileting, behaviour, sleep, emotional wellbeing and health conditions. As well as giving advice, the team can signpost to appropriate services and other support. Parents are still able to request to see a School Nurse face to face in school or receive support via a telephone call (with exception of private schools).
This programme is currently run by Barnardo’s and the Family Support Service. If you would like to know more and be referred for this support please get in contact with Lisa.
